	John attended law school at the University of Iowa, graduating with distinction and was involved in various legal clinics and private law clerk programs. He received his law degree (Juris Doctor) in 1975. Following a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Urban J. Steimann in Minnesota, John joined the firm and soon became a partner. Married with three sons, he has been very involved in school and community volunteer activities. Interests include traveling, sports, hunting, fishing, and hiking.
